Sara Mitran has been an emerging and disruptive technologies advocate throughout her career. She orchestrated the commercialization of new technologies and launched several strategic initiatives to stimulate larger sales deals worldwide and to optimize sales and marketing operations in Latin America. A # Executive (EVP) at IBM championed both initiatives. She increased the marketing ROI from mission-critical solutions based on the .NET platform developed by Microsoft’s small and medium-sized partners and launched the Channel Marketing function at AMD. As Cleantech Open Regional Director, she launched an incubator program and pitch competition in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas with a volunteer workforce.
She has worked at startups and as a management consultant to guide F500 executives on product and service development, identify strategic investment areas, market gaps, and opportunities, and resolve product revenue performance issues. In her consulting role, she launched several new practices and was considered a subject matter expert. In addition, she has participated in several incubators (Founders Academy, Founders Institute, Early Founders, RampCorp/Avinde, LeanStack, and Cleantech Open) and has mentored startups for several incubators, including Austin Technology Incubator, Texas Innovation Center, and Launch Texas, among others.
Sara has provided strategic advisory to early-stage deep-tech and science-based startups for NASA, NOAA, DOD/DARPA/MDA, DOE, EPA, CDC, DOT, NSF, and NIH-funded companies. Her business acumen is unparalleled. Sara holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and several certifications (CSPO, CSM, Salesforce Business Analyst, Six Sigma and to name a few). She recently completed a Space Health Research program sponsored by TRISH, a Space Education program from ARES Learning, and a Robotics and Automation program from MIT.
She helped launch the Space Force Association Texas chapter and served nationally as Women in Space Vice Chair and Partnerships Director. Most recently, she launched TexSpace Collective, a membership-based advocacy firm for Texas-based Space companies and stakeholders.
