An experienced venture capital professional and scientist with a lifelong fascination with space exploration, Jesse Posey empowers early-stage, diverse, and underrepresented founders with capital, networks, and expertise. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Seattle-based Dreamward Ventures and brings a unique perspective to space ventures through his own entrepreneurial journey, having previously launched a space startup. His commitment to fostering innovation extends beyond traditional investment—as a Material Change Fellow from the Material Change Institute, he focuses on supporting ventures that drive meaningful transformation and he helped establish Venture Black, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and supporting venture-scale businesses in the Black and Brown community throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Before venture capital, Jesse spent years as a researcher and scientist in the medical device, microbiological, and biotechnology verticals as well as in academia. Jesse holds a Master of Arts in International Security Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Biology-Biomedical Sciences Concentration, and a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies. His unique combination of scientific rigor, investment acumen, entrepreneurial experience, and passion for space makes him an invaluable mentor for the next generation of entrepreneurs.
