Program Director, International Space Station National Laboratory (ISSNL)
Dr. Irace serves as a Science Program Director at the International Space Station (ISS) National Laboratory. In this role, he leads physical science and technology development initiatives that enable researchers to leverage the ISS as a testbed to accelerate technology innovation and advance scientific discovery. Dr. Irace holds a PhD, MS, and BS in mechanical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, and a BS in Physics from Illinois College. During his doctoral work, he studied diffusion flames in space onboard the ISS, natural gas combustion, and flame synthesis of metals. After his doctoral work, he served as a principal investigator at Mainstream Engineering Corporation, leading SBIR and STTR contracts focused on developing systems for hypersonic vehicles.
